Merrily We Roll Along is a compelling musical about friendship, integrity, ambition, and the choices we face in making our dreams come true. Written with the theatrically inventive concept of beginning the story at the end and moving backwards in time, Merrily We Roll Along follows the relationship between three friends through the good and bad times and ends in the climax at the start of their careers, facing their bright futures together.

Please prepare 32 bars from Sondheim or a contemporary musical. Bring sheet music in correct key - a pianist will be provided. If auditioning for a specific role, prepare the corresponding songs/sides provided below. As always, please bring a current headshot and resume.
As with most Sondheim shows, the creative team is excited to see strong actors/singers with an exceptional ability to interpret character.
Note on ages: As the six lead roles decrease in age approximately 20 years over the course of the show, the creative team is seeking artists who can inhabit this range. Frank, Mary, Charlie, and Beth will be cast in a similar age range, while Gussie and Joe will read slightly older.
Performers of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities and expressions, and performers living with disabilities are encouraged to audition. He ranges from an influential composer to a successful film producer, but it comes with a cost. Handsome and talented but he is sometimes misled, tragic and tormented. Intimacy is required for this role.
